صرد أحمر القنة
Chestnut crown and nape; black upperparts with a white shoulder patch; white underparts; sharp, hooked beak. Females are paler.
Perches on the highest tree branches. Catches its prey in swooping attacks. Impales large prey on sharp thorns to tear into them.
Insects, reptiles, rodents, and birds.
Common summer visitor to Jordan. Occurs from spring to autumn in the highlands, including Irbid, Ajloun, Amman, and Shobak. Nests in trees.
