Brownish-gray body; dark cross-bands and white, diamond-shaped dorsal spots; about 10 dark tail-bands. Males have a blue throat and fainter bars in the mating season. Gravid females have orang-yellow bars.
Timid. Basks on rocks.
Syrian agamas feed on insects and spiders.
Open semi-deserts with vegetation in northwestern and western Jordan, including Ramtha, Amman, Madaba, Karak, Tafilah, and Shobak.
