Short-nosed Sand Lizard
سحلية قصيرة الأنف
Brownish or pale body; clear or faint white and brown dots; short snout; wide head; long tail. Differs from fringe-toed lizards by lacking fringes on its toes, and the two large scales on the back of its head do not touch.
Timid. Fast runner. Raises its feet alternately to avoid the hot sand.
Insects and spiders.
Stony, shrubby semi-deserts in central, eastern, and southwestern Jordan, including Azraq, Ruwayshid, south of Amman, Ma’an, and Aqaba.
