Sandy-gray plumage; finely-streaked crown; white-streaked breast; white eyebrows; black eyestripes; long, dark-brown, tapering tail.
Tail often cocked. Hops on the ground, occasionally disappearing into bushes and crevices. Builds domed nests in low scrub.
Insects and some weeds.
Common in arid, stony valleys and slopes of western and southwestern Jordan, including Wadi Mujib and Wadi Rum. Less common in eastern deserts, including the Jafr and Azraq regions. Builds domed nests in low scrub.
