Brown upperparts; lighter underparts; orange face and breast; black, pointed bill. Juveniles are mottled brown and lack orange coloring on the face and breast.
Often hops on the ground. Territorial and aggressive despite its small size.
Robins feed on earthworms and insects.
Common winter visitor. Occurs in urban gardens, shrublands, and woodlands, mainly in the Northern Highlands. Some venture to semi-deserts such as Azraq, Wadi Dana, and Petra. Nests in crevices and below hedges.
