A total of ten Phlomis species have been recorded in Jordan. They are generally sticky and hairy shrubs with thick, rough leaves. Flowers are yellow or pink, arranged in two opposite clusters at each stem node, each flower has a hood-shaped upper lip and a 3-lobed lower lip.
The Northern Highlands including Irbid, Jerash, and Amman. Some species occur in the Eastern Desert.
