Brown, white-dotted upperparts; white, brown-streaked underparts; long legs; yellow eyes; white eyebrows.
Partly nocturnal; can be seen in daytime perching on trees and buildings. Nests in crevices and burrows.
Insects, reptiles, and rodents.
Open, rocky, semi-arid areas in all of Jordan, except for the Central Desert. Common in the Dead Sea region. Nests in tree holes, rock crevices, and burrows.
