Olive-green plumage; gray wings and tail with bright-yellow patches; thick, pale bill. Females are duller green.
Lives in flocks outside of breeding season.
Greenfinches feed on seeds, and feed their young insects.
Common in urban gardens and wooded areas of the Northern Highlands and the Dead Sea region. Winters in Wadi Dana, Petra, and the Eastern Desert. Nests in evergreen trees and shrubs.
