Gray upperparts; whitish underparts; black eyestripe; black wings with white patches; black tail; sharp, hooked beak.
Solitary. Perches on the highest tree branches. Catches its prey in swooping attacks. Impales large prey on sharp thorns to tear into them.
Insects, reptiles, rodents, and birds.
Semi-arid regions, including the valleys of western Jordan and Azraq.
