Snake-like body with small legs; thick tail longer than its body; glossy-brown color with a dark side-stripe that runs from the nose, through the eye, to the tail.
Timid. Forages by day under leaves and rocks.
Feeds on insects and other small invertebrates.
Mainly wooded and bushy areas in the Northern Highlands, including Irbid, Jerash, Dibbin, Wadi al-Seer, and Salt. Also occurs farther south near water and vegetation in Wadi Mujib, Karak, Shobak, and Dana.
