Carnations and Pinks
A total of ten Dianthus species know as “carnations” or “pinks” have been recorded in Jordan. They are generally characterized by jointed stems with swollen nodes; simple, narrow leaves; pink or white, fragrant flowers; five petals with dented or feathered margins; cylindrical calyxes with short, scaly bracts.
Different habitats including Ajloun, Amman, Dab’a, and Tafilah.
Spring, summer, or autumn.
