002- Iron Age Kingdoms
Ancient Bozrah was a pastoral city and probably the capital of the kingdom of Edom in the 7th–6th century BCE. Archaeological excavations of Edomite sites have yielded mostly small villages and semi-nomadic structures. However, the copper industry, pottery manufacturing, and trade activities suggest a complex, urbanized society. Edom was conquered by the Babylonians, Persians, and Greeks, and then became the Nabatean kingdom by 200 BCE.
Edom extended south from the Dead Sea and included Wadi Araba and Petra. Bozrah is present-day Busayra, between Tafilah and Shobak.
