Low-growing, drought-tolerant plant in the mustard family. Yellowish, scented flowers with four brown-veined petals; basal branches; lobed, smooth leaves.
Fields and stony slopes in northwestern Jordan, including the Jordan River Valley, Amman, Salt, Jerash, and Mafraq.
Spring and summer.
Edible young leaves with a horseradish flavor. Flowers are used as a garnish with a similar flavor. Seeds produce edible oil and clean-burning lamp oil.
