Branching, slender, jointed stems; small, narrow leaves that fall off early to conserve water; delicate, white, dark-striped, 5-petaled flowers with ten stamens.
Gypsophila is Latin for chalk lover. The Gypsophila genus occurs in chalky and limestone woodlands, shrublands, and deserts, including Amman, Salt, and Shobak.
